Dr. John M. Maxted
Dr. John M. Maxted is Assistant Professor in the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Toronto where he has won several teaching awards.
He is a leader for patient safety in primary care with a key role in writing a landmark paper sponsored by the Canadian Patient Safety Institute. John has practiced all aspects of family medicine in southern Ontario where he was a provincial coroner. John has been the Chief of Staff at two large community hospitals in Ontario, and Vice-President of a national home care organization based in London, Ontario.
John was the Associate Executive Director for Health & Public Policy at The College of Family Physicians of Canada. He chairs the Board for the Health for All Family Health Team where he is the Physician Lead for the Markham Family Medicine Teaching Unit Family Health Organization.
