Dr. Louise Clément
Executive Director, Clinical Partnerships and Education Accreditation
Dr. Louise Clément is passionate and driven to find actionable ways to improve the health care experience for people that receive the care and those who are involved in its delivery. In recent years, she has integrated design thinking principles, improvement/implementation science methodologies and systems thinking in her numerous projects.
In her role as Executive Director, Clinical Partnerships and Education Accreditation, she is an active contributor in developing, innovating, and improving standards and accreditation programs. Louise firmly believes these products and services demonstrate value added to all those involved, through positive impact and better outcomes. She is an active surveyor for HSO’s affiliate, Accreditation Canada, nationally and abroad, having worked in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Ecuador and Brazil, among others.
Louise has led a number of high profile clinical projects, and most recently the implementation of a comprehensive stroke network in a national health system, and the development of an assessment program for European Reference Networks for the European Commission. She was also physician lead for the redevelopment of an academic 650 bed tertiary hospital in Montreal, Que. Her areas of expertise are quality improvement, clinician involvement, and enabling systems of care that promote and deliver a person-centered approach.
Louise holds a Medical Doctorate Degree from Université de Montréal, a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from McGill University, and a Physician Leadership Diploma from the University of Toronto.
Louise has held several leadership positions managing collaborative interdisciplinary teams and working with a wide range of stakeholders, including patient organizations, health policy-makers, clinicians, educators and health system administrators. Many of her projects have involved continuous quality improvement activities that have brought sustainable changes to organization-wide policies, procedures and guidelines to improve the care delivery process.
When Louise is not busy with work, she enjoys spending time with her family and connecting with nature.
