The Addiction and Mental Health Information System is an integrated client registration system and clinical information tool. It is used to collect, process, analyze, and use information about the population served to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall quality of care given to these clients and their families. It supports working collaboratively with clients and service providers to provide timely, appropriate, and coordinated mental health and addiction services. It also facilitates the timely access of pertinent information by service providers, supports continuous quality improvement activities within MHAS, and enables regional and provincial reporting on service utilization information. It creates a fully-integrated mental health and substance abuse data system, which allows all segments of MHAS to interact seamlessly.
