The Cervical Screening Program is a true population-based screening program, using two databases (from the Ministry of Health and the Cancer Registry). Saskatchewan is the only province that has accomplished this. The screening programs work directly with the community to deliver services and make improvements. The client list is based directly on the information provided by the Ministry of Health, resulting in broad enrolment. The information is used to identify barriers to screening and for program planning.
