The Family Feedback program allows leaders and committees to consider the family perspective through specific questions about family centred care practice behaviours. The program uses surveys designed to elicit timely and unit-specific feedback about the core concepts of Family Centred Care (FCC). Core elements of Family Centred Care such as information sharing, collaboration, communication, facilities, safety, respect and courtesy are surveyed. In the Family Feedback Card program, staff hand patients and families cards containing short survey questions and open space for narrative comments. The Children’s Hospital implemented this system to ensure clients and families have an accessible way to share their care experiences and raise concerns about the care provided.
