The Security Forces Hospital Program uses a computerized pharmacy medication notification process in ambulatory care, streamlining the dispensing process. A flat screen monitor advises patients when their medications are available and reduces the time spent by the pharmacist and technicians in managing prescriptions. The system identifies when a patient has been waiting longer than 20 minutes so that filling the prescription can be established as a priority.
