Multifamily Group Therapy (MFT) is an intensive outpatient therapy that brings families who are coping with an eating disorder (ED) together to learn from and support each other. At Southlake, we rely primarily on the MFT model as practiced by Pennie Fairbairn and Ivan Eisler in London UK, where Dr. Boachie and Karin Jasper were trained. The Maudsley-based program begins with an Introductory Evening followed a week later by a 4-day Intensive, and then there are 6 single-day sessions, all over the course of one year. Our groups are comprised of those with restrictive eating disorders.
