OTTAWA – Today, Health Standards Organization (HSO) announced the hiring of Feria Bacchus as Managing Director, Activation Services, effective Jan. 2, 2018.

Bacchus is a seasoned Strategic Healthcare Leader with 25 years of experience in the health care sphere.

She previously held Vice-President positions at the National Research Corporation Canada and Sodexo Canada. More recently, Bacchus was the Interim Strategy Officer at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Bacchus holds a Master of Health Science (MHSc) from the University of Toronto.

Bacchus says she was drawn to HSO by its bold ambition and its unique positioning to succeed in moving the needle on the improvement of quality in health and social services.

HSO develops world-class health standards and innovative assessment programs, applications and activation services so people can save and improve lives.

The Activation Services team develops tools, resources and solutions to enable service providers, policy makers, patients and family members to put the standards in action and achieve their expected outcomes.

Focusing primarily on leadership and governance, patient safety, people-centred care, and integrated health services, Activation Services develops learning solutions such as training, outreach and engagement activities, advisory and coaching services, publications and access to leading practices.

 In her new role, Bacchus says she is looking forward to meeting the needs of the health care community, allowing them to connect, to focus on what matters, and making it easy for them to do the right thing.
