On September 17, we joined in to raise global awareness and promote the WHO’s World Patient Safety Day, established in 2019 by the 72nd World Health Assembly through the adoption of resolution WHA72.6 – “Global action on patient safety.”
HSO’s alignment with the WHO’s Global Patient Safety Action Plan aims to empower and enable people worldwide to continuously improve quality of care as we move into the future. This includes the development of the new Governance and BC Cultural Safety and Humility standards, the Qmentum continuous accreditation model and capacity building with the Improving Integrated Care for Youth (IICY). These approaches are examples of levers of change, keeping quality and safety top of mind as we move closer to a vision of safer care and a healthier world.
