The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that deaths from cancer will continue to rise worldwide. HSO’s Cancer Care Services standards are for organizations providing cancer care services within an acute care setting or an independent centre. Cancer care includes prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and palliative care services. These services use evidence-based guidelines to cure clients, slow the progression of cancer, and improve the quality of life of clients and their families.
