Scope: The Leadership for Health Services Standard aims to provide an updated and discerning approach to leadership in health and social services organizations. This includes addressing priority areas such as: (1) workplace health and safety including psychological health and safety, stigma and discrimination; (2) service planning and design, including person-centeredness and collaborating with other organizations to develop an integrated health and social services network; (3) responsible resource allocation and planning for resource optimization; (4) continuous quality and safety improvement, including the delivery of culturally safe appropriate and services; (5) evolving organizational responsibilities related to IT, Finance and HR. .
Project Need: Leadership plays a fundamental role in driving excellence in healthcare and social services, and in influencing organizational culture. The purpose of this proposed standard is to examine the present-day leadership needs and priorities of health and social services organizations. HSO aims to develop standards that are relevant, and based on updated evidence and best practices to best guide leaders in advancing the delivery of high quality care services within their unique contexts.
