Using a board game is a unique way to foster discussion during new employee orientation and helps introduce or reinforce concepts of inter-professional collaboration (IPC) with other working teams. New employees reported increased awareness of other disciplines even if thought they understood the roles of others. They felt the game was a useful and enjoyable tool to help promote discussion, and an excellent icebreaker for new employees. The game itself has generated discussion among clinical staff who have yet to experience it and as such has increased inter-professional dialogue and discussion within the current teams. It is through the use of the board game that clinicians are reflecting on their own roles and the importance of inter-professional teamwork to enhance client centered practice throughout the facility.
