eCHN is the only functioning, pan-provincial Electronic Health Record. eCHN integrates data from multiple (disparate) vendor systems into a single patient-centric Electronic Health Record. eCHN collects data from multiple organizations, normalizes the data and presents a comprehensive, patient-centric Electronic Health Record in a consistent view regardless of the source systems, geography, standards and network connectivity employed by its participating member organizations. The eCHN solution equips health care providers with access to information immediately at the point-of-care. It provides efficient and effective use of clinical resources by eliminating duplicate tests since information from various sources is available to all those involved in the care of paediatric patients. eCHN has also improved the process of referring patients from community hospitals and private practices to SickKids.
